While Fay’s Away serves as Evalena’s directorial debut, and IndieWorks was her very first public screening as writer/director.

FEBRUARY 2020
Muti-Potentiality Award
Evalena has won the Multi-Potentiality Award for her interdisciplinary work on her directorial debut, While Fay’s Away, from the 2020 NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival.
Evalena wrote, produced, directed, acted in, and edited the film. She also got to enjoy the fun task of building the prop pregnancy belly out of a bicycle helmet, gelatin, and ace bandages.

As Shadows Wins Best Producer
Evalena has two films in the 2020 NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival thanks to the incredible filmmakers behind As Shadows, a short Evalena had the pleasure of acting in.
The film’s producer Gilana Lobel takes home the award for Best Producer, and the film itself takes 2nd Place for Best Suspense / Drama.
The film is written and directed by Alexis Vail and stars Adea Lennox and Michael Abbott Jr..
While Fay’s Away is an Official Selection of the 2020 NYWIFT Online Shorts Festival
Evalena’s first film as a director, While Fay’s Away, is an Official Selection of the 2020 New York Women in Film and Television Online Shorts Festival. The festival premieres February 1st online.
While Fay’s Away is a 14 minute short drama about a homeless, pregnant, and desperate young woman as she navigates a delicate chance at friendship.
The film stars talented actresses Jennifer Crumpton as Janine, and Isobel Roth as Fay.

Wonder Mag World Premiere
It seems like only yesterday that Evalena had a blue head of hair and her face smushed into the marble countertop of the Skyline Diner in Ringwood, NJ. And now, the world premiere of Wonder Mag is here! The short film, from writer and director Joseph Quartararo, is an official selection of the 2019 Video Drunk Film Festival in Toronto, and will screen Thanksgiving weekend.

Among Them on Amazon
The first feature written, and second feature produced, by Evalena is now available for streaming on Amazon. Among Them is a fever dream suspense thriller about two bank robbers that hide away in a deserted coastal town in the dead of winter.

Picture Wrap on Erratic
And that is a wrap on the James Canty Connecticut short thriller The Erratic. What an amazing shoot surrounded by unbelievably talented and wonderful people. Truly so fortunate to get to do what I love to do with people like these! They moved heaven and earth and prop boulders for this film, and every bruise was worth it!

That is officially a wrap on Joseph Quartararo’s short comedy Wonder Mag. This is really what filmmaking is all about. Loving what you do, with the people you do it with. Couldn’t be happier to have been a part of this project!

As Shadows World Premiere
Nearly a year after filming upstate at an iconic diner, As Shadows, written and directed by Alexis Vail and starring Adea Lennox and Michael Abbott Jr., will have its world premiere at the 2018 Hamptons International Film Festival as part of the New York Women in Film and Televisions "Women Calling The Shots" program and will be screening Sunday October 7th at 3:30PM.

Painless LA Premiere
Written and directed by Jordan Horrowitz and starring Joey Klein, the feature film shot in NY while Evalena lived in LA will now premiere in LA while Evalena lives in NY!
Prior to the VOD and DVD release October 2nd, Painless will have a week long theatrical release, Friday, September 21st - Thursday, September 27th at Laemmle Music Hall.

Married To A Murderer Premieres on Lifetime
You can catch Evalena in the supporting role of Becca, the sassy best friend to leading lady Anna Hutchison. Married to a Murderer, directed by Nick Everhart, will premiere August 18th at 8/7c, on Lifetime.

Principle Photography wrap on short 'While Fay's Away'
That's finally a wrap for a short film one year in the waiting. Initially began in June 2017, the cast and crew came back together exactly one year later, in June 2018, to shoot the final scene for the film. The film co-stars Jennifer Crumpton and Isobel Roth. The film now moves into post production.

Principle Photography begins on short 'Brighton / Barrington'
Phase one of production begins on the short drama 'Brighton / Barrington,' which will continue to shoot spread out over the summer, and wrap in August. The short film co-stars John Ramaine as the leading man.
